Welcome ,

Make The Next Step gets people moving and lets companies, funds and individuals take steps to improve the lives of families in Uganda and that can be done with a step that suits you.

Although Make The Next Step does not focus on emergency aid but on structural solutions, it has focused since September last year until June this year on aid that is needed now: providing food parcels to families who desperately need it because they have lost their jobs due to the pandemic and cannot look for another job because they are not allowed/able to use public transport.

In addition, it is working on a major project that will be further developed in Uganda in the period February-April.

The starting point of Make The Next Step is to develop activities in Uganda with the ideas of local people that provide income so that we can work on three (of the seven unachieved) millennium goals: improving living conditions so that there is money for sufficient and good food, reducing child mortality because there is money for good medication and ensuring that more children at least complete primary school.
This is possible if families have an income and we are happy to help with that. Make The Next Step does this by talking to local people.
What are your ideas, what can you do?
It is listening, asking questions, asking even more questions, asking further questions and ensuring that the plans become viable by making them concrete and providing a realistic budget and timeline.
Two principles are used: the person who is helped always pays something back to Make The Next Step (a percentage of the proceeds/profit or the investment) and there is a pay-it-forward principle attached to it: you/you too will help someone who needs it.

(in September 2000, the heads of government of 189 countries signed the “Millennium Development Goals Declaration”.
This declaration names 7 concrete goals and assumed that all goals would be achieved by 2015.
That did not work out….)

The objective of Make The Next Step is to ensure that three of the millennium goals are achieved in Uganda.

Idealistic? Yes. Impossible? No, not if we are going to achieve this goal together, so: join me!
